Every time a person appears Toy Story, all the toys spin into a frenzy before snapping into their proper places. That’s exactly what happened in Best Pixar Character Bracket: The first round was a mess, but everything fell into place in the second round. The top seed won 14 of 16 matches with an average of 72 percent of the vote. Such as Finding NemoBruce and The IncrediblesJack-Jack Barr was quickly packed – the latter, in fact, his mother sent him to his room. Now, heading to Sweet 16, every one of the top 12 seeds is still alive. Only two of the two-digit seeds remained. The Pizza Planet area is completely chalky. The other three regions contain only one remote region.

But none of this news should be greeted with a yawn. In fact, it could lead to interesting story lines: First, now that all the fantasies are done away with, Sweet 16 will be full of matches that come down to the wire; And second, the remaining underdogs were now in a position to truly ignite this competition.

It’s time to find out what happens next.

Voting for Sweet 16 is officially open. Remember: You can vote here, on Twitter, and on Instagram until 6 PM ET.

Who is favourite?

After two rounds, three Pixar franchises emerged as elite producers of compelling characters: Toy StoryAnd the The IncrediblesAnd the Monster Corporation. Each franchise has three Sweet 16 cast, and it wouldn’t be bold to expect the eventual winner of this category to hail from this group. But out of these nine characters, which one currently has the best odds?

Only two of them get on average over 85 percent of the vote: Woody and Buzz. (Dory is the only other character to fall at the 85 percent line.) But other than the numbers, we need to look at past and future matches. as not. 1 overall seed, Woody faced fairly easy competition in Dad’s Pants from onwards and Boo from Monster Corporation.– The same can be said of Buzz, who faced Barley Lightfoot and then Lightning McQueen. Their high proportions are understandable in this context; Meanwhile, Sully garnered an average of 84 percent of the vote against tougher foes: Dash, the only member of the Bar family who didn’t make it out in the first round, and lovable shark Bruce from Finding Nemo. Perhaps his victories mean a little more.

Or perhaps what matters most is who these giants face next. Soleil enthralled the whole of France’s best rat chef at Sweet 16, while single-seed Buzz and Dory will have to conquer a couple of trendy annoyances selections (more on them below). Then there’s Woody, who gets a double-digit seed in Roz Monster Corporation.Nothing is guaranteed, but we’ll just note his name on the next round for now. generally not. #1 still has the best odds from where I stand.

Little aliens are still alive!!!

With victories (very convincing) inside outsidesad and The IncrediblesViolet Barr, these little guys find themselves in the Sweet 16 as the lowest seed left in the arc. Now comes their biggest challenge yet: my turn, one seed. Can aliens Squeeze Toy make their biggest surprise yet? I’d be lying if I said I don’t support that.

Axiom

The Marquee Matchup of the Sweet 16

In one corner, you have Wall-E – the best waste compressor ever filmed, the titular character of Best Pixar movie ever. It was basically Wall-E kicking and pounding soda This week, with 93 percent of the vote against Arlo from The Good Dinosaur In round 1 and take down Toy StoryRex 67-33 in Round 2. (Wall-E Dislikes dinosaurs.)

But in the other corner you have Edna Mode, stitching from The Incredibles And a real internet icon it seems. Edna, the impudent queen, has passed the first two rounds of this tournament. Forky didn’t suit her on Monday, and in the second round she took a win against her Finding NemoMarilyn, who turned that creepy fish into sashimi with 65 percent of the vote. Wall-E was a favorite before the tournament, but Edna made it clear that it should be taken seriously, too. Now they go into battle with a spot in the Elite Eight on the line.

Which seed will fall first?

Other than Woody, Seeds 1 feels particularly at risk in this round. We’ve already figured out how Dory is set up to take on the Thinking Man Minions, and how Wall-E will have to take down YouTube favorite Pixar character — but perhaps the most vulnerable first seed is Buzz Lightyear, who faces Elastigirl on this roundup. against spiritThe 22-year-old and her youngest son, Jack Jack, Elastigirl was more dominant than Edna Mode, and she won road More convincing than her husband, Mr. Incredible. There is a serious argument to be made that she is the most likable character The Incredibles.

Then again, Buzz Lightyear is the primary reason we do this entire category. Nor was he dumb in the first two rounds: He’s averaged 90 percent of the vote in his confrontations thus far. But statistics may not tell the whole story. one reader pointed out These numbers cannot take into account “how the lady does not believe this lady.” We’ll see how much factor there is in the Sweet 16.
