Top SRX in Pensacola’s Picks

Before listening to Saturday’s race, you need to Watch selected footage from SportsLine’s advanced computer model. SportsLine’s proprietary racing model simulates each race 10,000 times, taking into account a large number of factors including track history and recent results.

Last season, the model was all over Stewart topping the SRX Series leaderboard at Eldora. The model also called for Stewart’s win in Knoxville, and is now called into the season’s opening SRX race on Saturday at Five Flags Raceway. In 2021, the model racked up five of Kyle Larson’s wins during a historic NASCAR Cup Series season, and also went 15-10 in the live match predictions to start 2022. Earlier this season, Ross Chastain’s win was elevated in Austin, which Giving him a much better chance of winning than his odds 40-1. The model was also high in Joey Logano before winning 15-1 at Darlington. Anyone who followed his lead in those plays saw huge returns.

For Saturday’s race, the model expects Francis, who won last year at the SRX Summit at Lucas Oil Raceway, struggle and fail to break into the top 10. Francis Jr. finished second in the points standings last season and finished in the top five. But the situation was not prepared for him on Saturday. Francis finished sixth in last year’s first race on another half-mile oval at Stafford Motor Speedway, the same length as the Pensacola track.

Francis Jr. had little success on his regular circuit, the Indy Lights series, not finishing better than his seventh to six races in a 14-car format. Recently, he had a pair of 10th place finishes at Belle Isle Park in Michigan and Road America in Wisconsin. The 24-year-old hasn’t driven a single round in his base Tour this season.

The start of the season features a field full of seasoned drivers who won’t give up an inch with only six races on the SRX schedule.
